Grants
Department of Defence Research Grants
- CAE-net received a SBIR award (HQ0006-06-C-7488) form the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in May 2006 for insensitive munitions research and development. This research and development program was successful and as a result CAE-net applied for the utility patent 11/970,551 under “ARMORING DEVICE FOR PROTECTING AN OBJECT” in December 2007. CAE-net has also received a new DARPA Phase I award (W31P4Q-09-C-0046) ON November 7, 2008 for anti-Blast armor.
Other Grants
- Development of Anti- Ballistic Composite Structure (ABCS) for an acoustic countermeasure gas generator to comply with Insensitive Munitions compliance. A utility patent has been filed for this technology. CAE-net is currently engaging in talks with several DOD agencies which are interested in implementing this technology to protect the War-fighters.
- Development of The Light-Weight Armor Composite, (LWAC) by modeling and simulation of high velocity dynamic impact. The Light-Weight Armor Composite (LWAC) is composed of multi-layer composite materials produced by Dr. Nema. LWAC is much lighter than steel plating, providing a benefit to the vehicle’s speed and longevity; making a soldier’s job easier when they’re wearing body armor. LWAC functions better than steel by absorbing the bullet’s energy like mud, instead of merely resisting it with brute strength.
- Modeling and simulating Launch Control Panel (LCP) for thermal, stress, noise, vibration and high impact explosions.
- Modeling and simulating Torpedo Defense Controller (TDC) for thermal, stress, noise, vibration and high impact explosion.
- Modeling and simulating Gas Generator housing for thermal, vibration, mechanical, structural, shock, drop test, bullet penetration, fast cook off, slow cook off, and fragment impact.
- Modeling, simulating, designing, and developing the missile download system. It was optimized for sudden backfire.
- Safety enhancements and improvement to the missile erector for the Trident missile.
- Development of Insensitive Munitions Packaging Solution for Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
