InPlastic

The InPlastic module is the non-linear analysis portion of the INERTIA Engineering System. It is part of the integrated system, though it can stand alone. This system approach is unique because the engineer only needs to build a model once. The same finite element model can then be shared among the various types of analyses: linear stress, non-linear, thermal, dynamics, etc. Aside from the model being shared, the resulting analysis information is also shared. Combination analysis affects may be examined simultaneously in the results stage of analysis.
Unique to the INERTIA Engineering System is its advanced solver techniques. InPlastic uses a proprietary technique which reduces user interaction and improves accuracy. This is accomplished by automating the load increments and load step iteration. The InPlastic user only needs to enter a material stress/strain curve once. When this data is in the system library it can be used repeatedly. The entire load is applied and then the InPlastic solver automatically follows the material curve and accounts for any change in the model’s geometry. An accurate solution is provided the first time through the analysis cycle rather than running trail increment after trail increment as is done with most packages.
The INERTIA Engineering System was developed for the product design engineer who needs access to powerful analysis tools on an occasional basis. Training time is reduced and the speed at which an engineer can develop a model is increased. Additionally, documentation and presentation can be enhanced by using standard Microsoft Windows applications and the cut and paste selection. Output of information, both text and contour plots, can be printed on all Microsoft Windows compatible devices.
