InConcept

InConcept is a parametric feature based Curve and Surface modeling program specifically designed for engineering analysis. It also reads Parametric and NURBS curves, and trimmed surfaces through IGES making it a finite element system capable of importing models from all of today’s most advanced solid modelers including Pro/Engineer. InConcept imports actual trimmed surfaces thus reducing editing time. The program will also read an ANSYS input file, including loads and boundary conditions exported from Pro/Engineer, and other solid modeling packages. InConcept provides the ability to edit surfaces parametrically.
The parameters of any feature on the model can be changed simply by entering a new value. The remainder of the model will change and then automatically mesh surfaces using shells and solids with flexible tetrahedron elements. A wide range of engineering attributes can be attached to the model including loads, boundary conditions, convection, radiation, flux and pressure, and so on.
InConcept provides feature based volume meshing using extrude, revolve and sweep of meshed surfaces, and volume meshing on volumes with curved edges. The InConcept program is designed specifically to bring advanced computerized mechanical engineering techniques to the design engineer. It takes advantage of the pioneering efforts in the Macintosh and Microsoft Windows environments such as non-hierarchical pop-up menu structures, dialog boxes, and icons to simplify the user interface.
The InConcept package supports all major graphic operating environments including Microsoft Windows, UNIX/MOTIF, Sun’s Open Look, and Apple Macintosh. The program runs identically with a single user manual on all of these platforms and can share data between them when they are linked on a single network.
