General Features

INERTIA's MarketINERTIA provides a flexible, integrated environment suitable for use in virtually every major engineering discipline — automotive, architectural, aeronautical, civil, mechanical, structural and others.

A key feature in INERTIA’s design is its consistency of user-interface. Once the user becomes familiar with one particular INERTIA product, the knowledge can be applied to other programs quickly and easily.

The same concepts that are used for INERTIA’s heat transfer program can be used for its solid electromechanical component program.

Graphical User Interface

Data is accessed and modified through INERTIA’s graphical user interface. This mouse driven system includes simple pop-up menus, dialog boxes, push buttons, check boxes, icons and others.

Multiple Time-Saving Features

Numerous features allow quick and efficient model creation and establishment of analytical conditions.

  • Draw/feature–A parametric feature based modeler with powerful MicroSoft Windows user interface. Design engineers will use INERTIA’S modeling features to build concept models for pre-engineering evaluation. They will also import solid, surface and wireframe models from their CAD/CAM system for further post engineering analysis.
  • Supports–Graphically assigns boundary conditions to the generated model.
  • Loads–Allows graphical definition and assignment of mechanical, structural, thermal, heat transfer, pressure, element and surface loads.
  • Materials–Accesses libraries of all electromechanical, mechanical, thermal and heat-transfer, isotropic, orthotropic, linear and non-linear material properties. It also enables users to build customized libraries.
  • View–Provides rapid on-screen maneuverability including pan, redraw, rotate, shade, animate, zoom, element, loads, stress, deformed shape and more.
  • Analysis–Defines and assigns analysis types to load cases. Analysis types may include static, dynamic, steady-state, transient, assembly, kinematics and more.
  • Help–Provides a quick overview of each command or function.
  • File–Permits database access without terminating the current task.
  • Plot–Produces plotted documents on screen or paper. Printouts follow established engineering report formats including cover pages with date and signature approval areas, company and client addresses; and proper headers, footers and pagination.
